Freeze Risk
Freeze and Blacklist Risk Guide
Stablecoins can look like the same dollar while exposing users to very different address-freeze authorities, triggers, and consequences. Check the issuer control surface before holding.
Freeze functions are both compliance tools and centralization risks.
They can support law enforcement, sanctions, and court orders, but they also mean a specific address can lose transfer access.
The practical question is whether your wallet can be blocked directly.
For fiat-backed tokens, review issuer authority. For protocol assets like DAI, review collateral and governance routes separately.
